Fashion Nova Jeans Try-On Haul!
Le Booty: Online vs. IRL
Hi, Y’all! Fashion Nova ads have been taking over my social media homepage. I must commend the brand’s marketing because BOOTY. BOOTY. BOOTY. If their ads have not reached you yet, just take a peck at their website and you will know what I am talking about.
I love memorable marketing, and because the price of the jeans were pretty good ($15 USD – $30 USD range plus 30% off), I decided it was worth the experiment. I mean… WHAT IF the jeans DO reshape me like one of those models? I. MUST. TEST. THEM. But also, ALL BOOTIES ARE BEAUTIFUL.
The shipping was FREE, and my jeans got delivered in 4 business days. I am not a fan of their returns because they only offer store credit.
Fashion Nova uses Junior sizing for their jeans: 0-15, and they also have 1X-3X. I am 5’6″ and usually wear a size 32 in AG Brand, Rag & Bone, and Hudson jeans. A size 12 in Target’s Mossimo jeans, and a size 14 in Old Navy’s Rockstar jeans. So to be on the safe side, I ordered two Fashion Nova jeans in a size 15.
For comparison purposes, I am wearing my Old Navy Rockstar jeans–hopefully this will give you a better sizing reference since they are widely available in the US. I will give a description of the 2 Fashion Nova jeans and then provide a comparison. As always, everything is linked down below.
Claims: “Made to Form, Shape, and Enhance Butt.” The “medium-blue” is quite dark and very pretty; and the denim is soft and stretchy. (79% Cotton, 19% Polyester, 2% Spandex).
The jeans were categorized as “Mid-Rise,” but it was noticeably higher and it sat at a weird point on my waist.
The ankle opening is not fitted, which made the hems flare up a bit. The whole look became less flattering from the front since the inseam is more ankle length, which drew attention to the flared-up hem.
The placement and size of the back pockets “enhanced” my right cheek. Let me explain… actually, I’ll illustrate it with better pics after I describe the next pair of jeans.
Overall, I would not recommend the Fashion Nova Booty Booty Booty Everywhere Shaping Denim jeans.
Fashion Nova Luxe High Waist Skinny Jeans ($29.99)
The dark wash is beautiful and the denim is comfortable and stretchy (74% Cotton 14% Polyester 10% Rayon 2% Spandex), but it also holds everything in (which makes my waist look smaller in comparison to the other two jeans whose material felt thinner). This jeans were categorized as “High-Rise,” but very comfortable and did not dig into my skin (a.k.a. EAT ALL THE THINGS!)
The slight fading in the front looks super flattering. Usually, I don’t like fading on my upper thighs, but this fading goes all the way to the knees and is very faint. The website states that the jeans have a 30″ inseam, but it felt more like a 32″ inseam.
I would totally recommend the Fashion Nova Luxe High Waist Skinny Jeans!
Fashion Nova jeans claim that they will enhance your booties, but I did not see a huge difference. I do, however, think that my right butt cheek looks fantastic in those Fashion Nova Booty Booty Booty Everywhere Shaping Denim jeans!
I decided to have some fun and see which characteristics of the jeans changed the shape of my bootie.
That left pocket y’all!!! Why is it SO FAR AWAY!? It is not even in the same horizon as the right pocket!
Depending on your preference, here are 2 characteristics to consider when purchasing your next pair of jeans:
1. The placement of the back pockets: for lift, the further away (within reason) the pockets are from the end of your bootie’s natural curvature, the more lifted it will seem. Also, simple large back pockets that are close to each other will give a slimmer backside illusion.
2. The size of the back pockets: smaller pockets will give the illusion of a bigger bootie since the size difference will be emphasized. If you have my body type, wider pockets that are plain (no embroideries, details, flaps, etc) that sit lower on your bootie will provide a nice proportion to the body. (Shoutout to the Fashion Nova Luxe High Waist Skinny Jeans!!!)
What are your favorite tips when purchasing jeans and which one is your favorite pair?
Thank you so much for stopping by!
